Ich hab meinen Augen ja nicht getraut, als mir Nico ueber Facebook geschrieben hat, dass er gerade in New York ist. Mein alter Mitbewohner aus Stuttgart, den ich seit ueber 3 Jahren nicht mehr gesehn habe, war dort gerade mit seinem Kumpel Flo auf Urlaub. Und so haben wir Samstag und Sonntag zusammen New York unsicher gemacht :)
Hat mich riiiesig gefreut, dich mal wieder zu sehn Nico! Und bis zum naechsten Mal dauert es keine 3 Jahre mehr!!

I really didn't trust my eyes as Nico wrote me on facebook, that he's in New York too. I haven't see my old roommate from Stuttgart in 3 years and now we met in New York!!! :) Nico and Flo have been on holidays together and so the three of us spend the last few days in New York together. It was great meeting you guys! Can't wait for the next time :))

Tja, es ist schon wieder so weit. In ein paar Stunden geht mein Flieger nach London. Unglaublich wie schnell die Zeit hier vergangen ist.

Ein paar Dinge die ich hier so erlebt habe:
- erstaunlich viele Amis waren schon in Deutschland
Ich habe einen kennengelernt, der sogar 2 Jahre in Berlin Touristenfuehrer war, der Gute hat dann aber in Geschichte wahrscheinlich mehr auf dem Kasten als ich (nicht schwer :))
Und mein Host in New York hat sogar Deutsch studiert! Und musste auch immer diese ekligen gelben Reklamhefte lesen! ha :)

- erstaunlich viele Amis wissen, dass es Deutschland gibt :)

aber, da ist ja auch die andere Seite des Landes:
Ich war leider nicht im Sueden, wo man evtl. ein paar "interessantere" Menschen treffen koennte, aber ich habe ein paar Geschichten gehoert:
Paerchen aus Daenemark unterhaelt sich mit einem aelteren Paerchen aus Texas (auch Rednecks genannt). Daenemark laedt das Paerchen ein, sie mal besuchen zu kommen. Texas sagt daraufhin, dass sie lieber nicht kommen, da sie dort ja auffallen wuerden... Daenemark: ???? Texas: Na ihr wisst schon, die ganzen Schwarzen die in Europa leben, da fallen wir ja auf.
...
Daraufhin kommt das Gespraech auf den 11. September. Texas fragt Daenemark: das wart aber nicht ihr, oder????
Und ist Daenemark nicht irgendwo bei Denver?!?!?? ....

Times is running!!! In a few hours I'm leaving on a jetplane... *sing* to London.
I have seen so much the last two months, it's crazy. But somehow it still feels like time was and is running!
Anyways, here are a few stories about America.

I have to say I've been surprised how many people have actually been to Germany and really liked it! I met a guy who was a tourguide in Berlin. He probably knows more about the German history than I do... *shame*
And my current host in New York actually studied German! He had to read these awful yellow Reklam-books as well!!! :)

But there is always another side... It didn't happen to me, but I met the couple over couchsurfing. And that's their story:
The couple from Denmark met a couple from Texas. They started talking, the Danish invited the Americans to come and visit them. The Americans answer was: Oh no, we would fall out over there. Danish: ??? Americans: oh you know, with all these black people living in Europe!!!
Then they started talking about 9/11. The couple from Texas: "But it wasn't you guys, was it?" ....
And isn't Denmark close to Denver???
